How to install KVAR (KEC)
Installation must be done by a licensed electrician. To do so otherwise will void the warranty. The KEC is attached to the top of a 220/240 volt breaker/200amp service.
By installing the KEC in this location, you are hitting both sides of the bus bar in your panel insuring amperage surge protection.
Installation of the Unit
| 1. Find the panel | ![]() |

| 2. Take off the panel cover. | ![]() |

| 3. Drill a 7/8" hole in the corner. | ![]() |

| 4. Thread wires from the unit through the hole and start the nut on the cable protector. | ![]() |

| 5. Situate the KVAR (KEC) Unit and screw the unit into the wall. | ![]() |

| 6. Turn off the top 220/240 breaker, fasten the cable protector and strip the wire ends of the KVAR (KEC) unit. | ![]() |

| 7. Fasten the ground lead, two hot leads to the 40-amp breaker, and connect the green wire to the grounding bar. | ![]() |

| Connect the Hot leads and the green wire. | Loosen the screws under the breaker and slip the 2 red wires under the 2 screws and tighten. | |
| 8. Double check to make sure all wires are properly installed and connected and replace the cover. | ![]() |

| 9. Turn the breaker back on and replace the cover. The KVAR (KEC) light should be lit. | ![]() |
